[R&D Diary Vol.03] Dr. Ben: 15 Minutes of Stillness in a Noisy World
Hello, I’m Ben.
Before NIPLIFE, I was an IT engineer in Fukuoka. My life was defined by endless code and midnight shifts. As a long-time glasses wearer, my day always ended with throbbing eye strain. I’d find myself rubbing my eyes in exhaustion, searching for relief that never seemed to come.
I tried many massagers, but as an engineer, none were "perfect." So, I built my own.
1. Silence over Vibration
Most massagers use vibrating motors that create an annoying "hum." True therapy should be a ritual of peace, not a drill at your temple. I removed vibration entirely, replacing it with a multi-airbag system that targets deep acupoints (Jingming, Taiyang). It provides deeper relaxation in total silence.
2. The Warm Towel Effect
Overworked eyes suffer from poor circulation. Our constant-temperature compress feels like a freshly wrung warm towel. It doesn’t just "heat"; it heals. As the warmth penetrates, you can feel a day’s worth of digital eye strain slowly melting away.

3. The "Weightless" Moment
Standard massagers often feel like they are "touching" rather than "massaging." I designed a dual-layer airbag system:
-
Layer 1: Provides gentle, soothing wrapping pressure.
-
Layer 2: Delivers precise, rhythmic acupoint kneading.
The magic happens during the release—a sudden "weightlessness" that feels like your nerves have been set free, falling into the clouds.

4. Crafted for the Tropics
In Southeast Asia’s humidity, ordinary fabrics risk bacteria and mold. I chose Protein Leather—it’s incredibly soft, breathable, and easy to wipe clean. Paired with a matte, soft-touch exterior, the premium quality is felt the moment you pick it up.

I created NIPLIFE for those seeking a quiet escape from a high-pressure world. This version is my pride, and I hope it becomes your "Personal Therapist."
